Government of Telangana exempts all Shops & Establishments employing upto 10 employees from the applicability of the Shops Act

In pursuance of the instructions of Government of India with regard to the exercise of deregulation and compliance reduction exercise to the industry and as part of the priority areas identified, it was suggested that States may revisit the threshold limit, which is currently 0 in most States, for compliance under the Shops & Establishments Act, as this will encourage MSMEs by reducing the compliance burden on them.

Government of Maharashtra allows Shops to keep its doors open for 24 hours

The Government of Maharashtra has issued a new circular on Wednesday clarifying that Shops can now be kept open 24/7 as a step up to the existing Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017.
