SHe-Box Portal: Centralised POSH Compliance, Complaints & Empanelment

The new SHe-Box Portal is a unique initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development to provide a publicly available centralised repository of information relating to Internal Committees (ICs) and Local Committees (LCs) formed across the country, whether in Government or Private Sector. The Portal also provides a common platform to file complaints and track the status of such complaints.

Women workers in the unorganised sector and domestic workers can easily file complaints through the SHe-Box Portal, providing a centralised and accessible platform to report instances of sexual harassment directed to the appropriate Local Committee (LC) based on the workplace location, if their organisation does not have an IC. It is mandatory for all workplaces including private entities to register on this SHe-Box Portal.

Alignment with the POSH Act, 2013

The portal has been developed in consonance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 to make implementation more effective. The Hon’ble Supreme Court has strongly recommended strict compliance with the provisions of the Act.

The SHe-Box Portal is designed in such a way that unless a workplace uploads information about its IC, complainants will not be able to file complaints to that IC. This makes it crucial for both private and public sector organisations to submit the required details under the POSH Act.

Empanelment Facility

Besides IC data and complaint filing, SHe-Box offers an empanelment facility for organisations and individuals familiar with issues of sexual harassment at the workplace. This initiative helps provide training and education to staff and IC members, thereby promoting awareness and sensitisation.

Organisations and individuals committed to women’s rights, or with expertise in law, social work, psychology, or in addressing violence against women, can apply for empanelment to support workplace compliance and training.
